Exhibition Redesign - planning 2011
Ontsluiten industrieel erfgoed Zaanstreek
The newly created Verkade Pavilion attached to the Zaans Museum proved popular to Dutch and foreign visitors of all age groups—since the pavilion opened visits to the museum almost tripled with 62,000 visitors a year. However, the new presentation in the Verkade Pavilion makes a stark contrast to the current presentation in the Zaans Museum and so the museum has decided recreate its exhibition.

The Zaan region has a unique place in the history of Dutch industry—from humble beginnings, it grew into an area that had a massive impact in the Netherlands for over three centuries. The aim of the new exhibition is to do justice to this story while enabling visitors to enjoy the cultural riches of the Zaans Museum’s unique collection.
