"The recalibration of our history goes hand in hand with thinking about the future museum. While we restore and conserve the church, we also work in our heads, on the streets and on the drawing board on renewing and experimenting. Along with creative thinkers and doers, we gave form to the new part of the museum and we investigate the value of Our Lord in the Attic for the neighborhood and the city."

Museum experience - opening 2013
A statement about tolerance
Museum ‘Our Lord in the Attic’ is a 17th Century canal house with an authentic, beautifully preserved ‘hidden church.’ It is already one of Amsterdam’s most popular museums with Dutch and foreign visitors alike.
The museum is undergoing major refurbishment—the church is being restored to its 19th Century glory and a neighbouring house has been acquired. In the future, visitors will enter the museum via the new house and experience the museum as an integrated story. Using the latest audio techniques, visitors will understand the context and drama of the past and then be taken back in time, walking through the authentic rooms of the 17th Century and discovering the amazing church that lies hidden in the upper floors.
