Comments
"Dordrecht believes that the year 1572 and the Hofkwartier where important meetings took place deserve more attention. That is why the town wants to make historical facts not only known, but tangible to a wide audience."

Dordrecht 1572 on your mobile, internet and in visitor centre
1572 was an eventful year in the history of Dordrecht and an important turning point in the history of the Netherlands: The Augustine monastery ‘Het Hof’ was the location for the first ever meeting of the free States of the Netherlands.
To celebrate this, Dordrecht Archive ‘DiEP’ created a pilot exhibition ‘Dordrecht 1572’ which incorporated a locative media tour. Visitors could walk around the city of Dordrecht and access the images and stories of that historic year directly from the archive using mobile telephones with GPS capability. The capacity to access archive material on locastion using this kind of technology could be the future of archives.
